On the afternoon of October 31 (local time), within the framework of the 2025 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Korea, Politburo member and President Luong Cuong met with General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping.
At the meeting, President Luong Cuong warmly congratulated China on successfully organizing the 4th Central Conference of the 20th tenure, congratulated China on its achievements under the leadership of the Communist Party Central Committee of China with the core being General Secretary and President Xi Jinping; and respectfully conveyed the warmest greetings and best wishes of General Secretary To Lam and key leaders of Vietnam to General Secretary and President Xi Jinping and Chinese leaders.
General Secretary and President Xi Jinping sent his best wishes to General Secretary To Lam and key leaders of Vietnam, wishing and believing that Vietnam will successfully organize the 14th Congress.
The two sides highly appreciated the good progress of the relationship between the two Parties and the two countries in recent times; agreed to continue to strengthen exchanges and contacts at high and all levels, strengthen political trust, enhance substantive cooperation, promote people-to-people exchanges, promote the stable, healthy, sustainable development of Vietnam - China relations and increasingly in-depth.
President Luong Cuong affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always consider developing relations with China as an objective requirement, a strategic choice, and a top priority in foreign policy; suggested that the two sides well implement high-level visits, increase theoretical exchanges between the two Parties and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields.
Agreeing with the cooperation proposals of President Luong Cuong, General Secretary and President Xi Jinping emphasized that China attaches high importance to its relations with Vietnam; suggested that the two sides continue to deepen the bilateral relationship, promote the effectiveness of the theoretical seminar mechanism; affirmed readiness to strengthen cooperation in all fields with Vietnam.
