World oil price today
At the end of the weekend trading session, WTI crude oil was at 62.80 USD/barrel, down 1.16 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.81%. WTI oil closed the previous trading session at 63.96 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 63.91 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 75.85 USD/barrel, down 0.99 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.48%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 66.84 USD/barrel and opened the weekend session at 66.87 USD/barrel.
Thus, world oil prices in the last session of the week continued to decline sharply. The market continues to be affected by weak economic data from China. The country's industrial output fell to an 8-month low, while retail sales rose the slowest since December 2024. This puts pressure on investor psychology.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On August 16, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 are as follows:
The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil was adjusted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance from 3:00 p.m. on August 14.
Accordingly, gasoline prices have decreased simultaneously. E5RON92 gasoline price decreased by 254 VND/liter, RON95-III gasoline decreased by 190 VND/liter, diesel decreased by 723 VND/liter, kerosene decreased by 640 VND/liter, mazut decreased by 379 VND/kg.

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price management period, retail prices of gasoline may adjust in opposite directions in the direction of increasing gasoline prices and decreasing oil prices.
In particular, the price of RON 95 - III gasoline is forecast to increase by about 150 VND/liter; E5 RON 92 - II gasoline increases by about 80 VND/liter; Diesel oil decreases by about 170 VND/liter.
