World oil price today
World oil prices today increased simultaneously. At 11:07 (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil was at 71.19 USD/barrel, up 0.49 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.69%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 70.70 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 70.96 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 74.72 USD/barrel, up 0.41 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.55%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 74.31 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 74.46 USD/barrel.
World oil prices are on the rise due to concerns about a short-term supply shortage. Reuters said that on February 24, the US Treasury Department imposed a new round of sanctions targeting Iran's oil industry, targeting brokers, tankers, and those involved in selling and transporting the country's oil.
Analysts said that the new round of sanctions, combined with the Iranian Oil Ministry's reaffirm of its commitment to comply with the supply agreement of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC+), could have a modest impact on oil prices.
However, oil prices could still be pressured by negotiations to end the conflict in Ukraine, paving the way for Russian oil to enter the market, as well as a series of US tariffs that could affect economic activity and crude oil demand.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On February 25, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities are applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil was adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of February 20, 2025. Accordingly, E5 RON 92 gasoline price increased by 257 VND/liter; RON 95-III gasoline increased by 257 VND/liter; kerosene increased by 40 VND/liter, diesel decreased by 10 VND/liter; mazut decreased by 183 VND/kg.

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the interim price management period, gasoline prices may decrease slightly.
In particular, gasoline prices are forecast to decrease by about 100-200 VND/liter; oil prices may decrease by about 50-100 VND/liter.
