The conference listened to a summary report on the implementation of socio-economic tasks, the results of public investment disbursement, and budget collection in the first 6 months of 2025.
Of which, the total state budget revenue in the area is estimated at VND 77,319,036 billion, up 27.1% over the same period, equal to 65.9% of the estimate assigned by the Central Government and 65.5% of the estimate assigned by the City People's Council, reaching 59.7% of the assigned target. The output of goods passing through the port is estimated at 86.33 million tons, up 11.95% over the same period, equal to 40.72% of the annual plan. Export turnover is estimated at 17.6 billion USD, up 3.32% over the same period, equal to 47.56% of the annual plan.
Regarding foreign investment attraction, the city is estimated to reach 1,085 million USD, down 7.99% over the same period, reaching 27.13% of the annual plan. In the first 6 months, the city attracted 5.25 million tourists, an increase of 18.78% over the same period, equal to 52.5% of the annual plan.
Regarding the disbursement of public investment capital, as of June 20, the city has disbursed VND6,425 billion, equal to 25.3% of the plan assigned by the Prime Minister and the plan assigned by the city...
At the meeting, the Chairman of the Hai Phong City People's Committee requested units to report on the situation of land rent collection for organizations and individuals renting state-owned houses as production and business establishments as well as the situation of enforcement and recovery of apartment buildings in the city. Some localities also informed about the preparation for the operation of the two-level government from July 1, 2025.
After listening to reports from departments, branches, units and localities, Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee Nguyen Van Tung assessed the results of implementing the city's tasks in the first 6 months of the year as basically good. Notably, the budget revenue results reached nearly 60%, exceeding the target assigned by the Central Government and the target of striving. Domestic revenue exceeds the plan.
However, some economic development indicators and public investment disbursement progress, although increased compared to the previous year, are still lower than the national average.
The city's leaders directly directed the handling of some cases that have been pending for many years, and have basically resolved them. Preparations for the implementation of the 2-level government and the city will be basically completed on July 1, 2025.
The Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee hopes that the team of leaders of the new communes, wards and special zones will strive to promote their capacity, together with the city's leaders, to achieve the socio-economic development targets and tasks in the last 6 months of 2025.
