On July 9, Mr. Vo Phien - Deputy Director of the Department of Construction of Quang Ngai - said that in the coming time, in addition to projects invested by the province, Quang Ngai will coordinate to implement many large-scale projects of inter-regional nature. Notably, the projects are: North - South high-speed railway, Quang Ngai - Kon Tum expressway, two strategic airports in Ly Son and Mang Den.
"For the North-South high-speed railway project, the Department has advised the Provincial People's Committee to assign specific tasks to departments and branches; at the same time, proposed that the Provincial Party Committee establish a Steering Committee for site clearance. The basic preparations have been completed and are ready to be implemented when the Central Government directs," said Mr. Phien.
As for the Quang Ngai - Kon Tum expressway project, the province is coordinating with Project Management Board 85 to prepare a pre-feasibility study report, determine the route and other technical factors. The province has also reviewed and added mineral mines to the planning to ensure sources of construction materials such as earth, sand, stone, etc. to avoid shortages when the project starts construction.
For the two projects of Mang Den airport and Ly Son airport, the province has worked with the Ministry of Construction to submit to the Prime Minister for approval to add to the Master Plan of the national airport system for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
According to the report of the Department of Construction, after the merger of Quang Ngai - Kon Tum, the transportation system of Quang Ngai province has a total length of more than 1,560km from the district level and above. Of which, there are 6 national highways with a length of 541km and 24 provincial roads with a length of more than 866km.
The province is implementing many major projects such as the Hoang Sa - Doc Soi route (total capital of VND 3,500 billion), upgrading Provincial Road 671 and building a new bridge (nearly VND 300 billion); at the same time, coordinating with the Ministry of Construction to implement the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon expressway.
Regarding urban development and tourism infrastructure, the Department of Construction has advised on approving the planning of Mang Den 1 subdivision (belonging to Mang Den national tourist area), approving the planning project of 6 subdivision in Dung Quat Economic Zone, the urban development program of Ly Son and Dao Ngoc Urban Area.
