According to records, at Market 337 Dich Vong, food stalls such as vegetable stalls are less crowded than usual. Ms. Ha Uyen (a trader at 337 Dich Vong market) said: "The number of customers buying today decreased by more than 50%. Partly because people are preparing to return home for a long holiday, they do not buy food items to reserve".
As a fruit seller at 337 Dich Vong market, Ms. Thu Minh informed that during such holidays, traders often choose to promote selling on social networking platforms and food ordering applications to overcome the situation of reduced purchasing power during the holidays.
"Normally, I will post the items on my personal Facebook page to reach customers in need but from afar, thereby limiting the decrease in revenue due to the holidays. During the April 30 - May 1, 2024 holiday, thanks to online sales on social networks, I earned about 70-80% of my profit compared to last year.
However, combining online sales is only suitable for essential items and has an average price. As for low-value items such as vegetables, spices, ... it will be very difficult to apply, because the transportation cost is even higher than the value of the item" - Ms. Minh shared.
Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong (Cau Giay, Hanoi) shared: I often rarely go to the market, so every time I go, I will buy enough food to cook for 3 days. However, this holiday, my family chose to return to our hometown for 5 days, so I only bought the food I needed today, because if I bought it on reserve like always, it would be very easy to lose money.

During the holidays of April 30 and May 1, 2025, cadres, civil servants, public employees and students will have a day off from Wednesday (April 30, 2025) to Sunday (May 4, 2025).
