According to the Hon Gai Port Border Gate Customs Sub-Department (Zone VIII Customs), on January 1, 2026 - the first day of the 2026 New Year holiday, the unit still maintains 100% of the force on duty to receive and resolve procedures for import and export goods.
Thanks to this, customs clearance activities are smooth, there is no congestion, contributing to quickly clearing vehicles and promptly meeting the production and business needs of businesses.
From 0:00 to 11:30 on January 1st, the unit received and processed procedures for 32 declarations with a total turnover of more than 11.3 million USD, the amount of tax incurred reached about 52 billion VND. The main items include gasoline and oil, animal feed and raw materials for production in industrial parks in the area.
It is expected that during the holiday (from January 1 to January 5), there will be 16 cargo ships docking at coal ports, Quang Ninh ports and transshipment points. The main import items are DO oil, Mazut oil, dried beans, scrap steel; the main export items are cement and wood chips.

Meanwhile, at Mong Cai International Border Gate, early this morning, the first import and export (XNK) shipments of the new year had completed customs procedures through Bac Luan II Border Gate (Mong Cai 1 ward). The first shipment of imported goods was machinery and equipment for production, with a total value of over 4.5 million USD.
To create the most favorable conditions for businesses and maintain the smooth flow of the cross-border supply chain, during the 2026 New Year holiday, functional forces at Mong Cai International Border Gate continue to maintain a normal working regime. Import and export activities through Bac Luan II bridge are organized stably; customs clearance of goods is carried out according to a pre-arranged mechanism, ensuring safety, efficiency and reducing congestion.
According to statistics as of 10:00 AM on January 1, 2026, at the Bac Luan II bridge border gate, there were 30 export vehicles, transporting more than 540 tons of frozen goods in the form of prior customs clearance; at the same time, there were 12 import vehicles carrying nearly 100 tons of electronic components, machinery, and equipment. Total import and export turnover through this area reached 11.5 million USD.
It is expected that for the whole day of January 1, there will be about 45 vehicles exiting and 30 vehicles entering through Bac Luan II bridge.
At the Km3+4 Hai Yen opening, on the morning of the first day of the year, there were 69 vehicles carrying 1,790 tons of export goods, including 891 tons of fruits and 899 tons of frozen seafood. It is expected that on January 1, 2026, 90 to 100 vehicles will be allowed to complete exit procedures through this opening. Thus, the total import and export turnover through Mong Cai International Border Gate is expected to be 20 million USD today.
Also on the morning of January 1st, Cam Pha Port Border Gate Customs organized a meeting to congratulate 2 businesses that opened their first declarations at the unit in 2026.
Coal Import-Export Joint Stock Company and Northern Coal Business Joint Stock Company have completed procedures for 7 import declarations of 539,000 tons of coal, contributing 141 billion VND in revenue to the budget.
In 2025, the total import and export turnover of goods through Quang Ninh province reached over 23.8 billion USD, an increase of 25% compared to 2024 (ranked 7th/10 regional customs units with the largest turnover in the country). State budget revenue, although only reaching 91% of the assigned target of 17,800 billion VND, is one of the 7 units in the entire industry with the largest state budget revenue, continuing to affirm its pillar role in the province's revenue source.
