On December 25, 2025, Vingroup Corporation said that the Corporation had just issued Official Letter No. 764/2025 to the Government. Accordingly, Vingroup proposed to withdraw the investment registration of the North-South high-speed railway project submitted to the Government in May 2025.
According to Vingroup, the decision to withdraw was carefully considered by the Group. The reason is to focus resources on key infrastructure and energy projects.
A typical example is the Olympic Sports Urban Area Project in Hanoi with a scale of more than 9,000 hectares, with the center being a complex of high-quality sports facilities, including Trong Dong Stadium - the largest in the world.
This is a special project of national stature that the Government has trusted and assigned Vingroup to implement, in order to mark the national identity with the world.
Therefore, Vingroup Corporation determined to focus maximum resources to ensure completion on schedule and with the committed quality.
Along with the Olympic Sports Urban Area Project, Vingroup is also assigned to be the investor of a number of important transport infrastructure routes such as: Ben Thanh - Can Gio high-speed railway line; Hanoi - Quang Ninh high-speed railway line ...
Vingroup is also focusing on implementing a series of other important industrial, energy and infrastructure projects such as Vin Metal Steel Factory; 2 wind power plants in Ky Anh (Ha Tinh), Hai Phong LNG Thermal Power Plant, Can Gio coastal super urban area, etc.
These are all projects that contribute to upgrading the country's infrastructure and production capacity, requiring huge investment in capital, time and implementation capacity.
Meanwhile, the North-South high-speed railway project has received the attention and investment proposals of many potential and experienced enterprises such as: THACO Truong Hai, Vietnam Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, Vietnam Investment and Development Group (Vietnam 3000)...
Therefore, Vingroup believes that the Group's request to withdraw the investment registration of the North-South high-speed railway project does not affect the project implementation.
This is a proactive and responsible step by Vingroup before the Government to ensure the best implementation of assigned projects, contributing to the development of transport infrastructure, renewable energy and urban areas in a modern and sustainable direction, improving national competitiveness and the quality of life of the Vietnamese people.
