On the morning of October 23, the An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor (FFL) organized a training conference on trade union skills. Mr. Lam Thanh Si - Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor - and more than 100 trainees who are full-time union officials of the provincial, district, town, city federations of labor and grassroots unions under the Provincial Federation of Labor.
At the conference, the trainees were presented with two important contents of the Trade Union profession. Mr. Lam Thanh Si - Chairman of the Provincial Federation of Labor - presented the topic "Innovation of the content and methods of Trade Union activities in the new situation. Orientation of some key tasks of Trade Union activities in 2025".
In particular, Mr. Si emphasized the application of information technology in records management and operations.
Ms. Luong Thi Kim Xoan - Chief of Office of An Giang Provincial Federation of Labor - deployed the Law on Emulation and Commendation in 2022; Decree No. 98/2023/ND-CP dated December 31, 2023 of the Government detailing the implementation of a number of Articles of the Law on Emulation and Commendation; Commendation Regulations of the Provincial Federation of Labor and guidelines for organizing the activities of Emulation Clusters and Blocks of the Provincial Federation of Labor. In particular, Ms. Xoan emphasized the factor of accurate, timely, public and transparent rewards to create practical motivation for patriotic emulation movements.
On this occasion, the Provincial Federation of Labor devoted appropriate time for reporters and trainees to discuss and resolve difficulties and problems in the process of implementing emulation, reward and office work in localities and units.
After observing the learning spirit and listening to the basic content of the discussion and answers at the conference, Chairman Lam Thanh Si emphasized that in the context of integration, besides opportunities, the Trade Union organization also faces important challenges.
In that context, the Trade Union organization must constantly innovate its content and methods of operation to better perform its three important functions: representing, protecting, and caring for union members and workers.
“To achieve this goal, first of all, Union officials need to be equipped with knowledge and skills in professional work. In particular, focusing on emulation and reward content; applying information technology and reporting work for Union officials to improve the quality of advice work... Thereby, contributing to building a team of professional Union officials, bravery, intelligence, enthusiasm, responsibility, and performing well the assigned requirements and tasks" - Mr. Si emphasized.
