Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc commended and acknowledged the results in socio-economic development and care for the lives of people and workers in Bac Kan province.

Bac Kan is a revolutionary base, the place where the revolution originated. Due to its rugged terrain, Bac Kan is still a poor province. I request the Party and the government of Bac Kan province to continue to create favorable conditions and pay attention to people's lives, especially in eliminating dilapidated and makeshift houses for poor households," the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc and Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong and the working delegation presented 400 gifts to policy households, workers and laborers in difficult circumstances in the area.
Each gift includes 1 million VND in cash and 1 gift worth 300 thousand VND.
As one of the families receiving Tet gifts this year, Mr. Hau Van Thanh (Ban Mach, Ngan Son district) said: "Every time Tet comes, my family receives the attention of the Party, the State, and the Trade Union organizations. This is a great and timely encouragement for my family to overcome difficulties and rise up in life. Thanks to this timely attention, we know we are not left behind."
Speaking at the program, Mr. Hoang Duy Chinh - Secretary of Bac Kan Provincial Party Committee affirmed that in recent years, the locality has made great efforts. However, the general conditions of the province are still very difficult. In particular, the poverty rate by the end of 2024 will still account for 22%, near-poor over 11%.
"Among the poor households, nearly 4,000 families still live in dilapidated houses. The province is determined to focus on eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses by 2025. To achieve this result, it is necessary to continue to have the attention of Party and State leaders. At the same time, each citizen needs to be proactive and coordinate with the government to realize this goal," emphasized Provincial Party Secretary Hoang Duy Chinh.
