New face where people once destroyed gates and fences with their own hands
The rural traffic road in Minh Duc zone 2, Hien Quan commune (zone 2, Thanh Uyen commune, former Tam Nong district) was previously narrow, and the road surface was damaged, causing many difficulties for people's travel and trade.
In 2025, Hien Quan Commune People's Committee invested 8 billion VND for the project to renovate and upgrade rural roads here, the construction unit is Sao Mai Phu Tho Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, starting construction from October 12, 2025.
The road being renovated and upgraded has a total length of 1,125.92m. With funding focused entirely on construction, the land clearance (GPMB) problem completely depends on the voluntary spirit of the people.
As Lao Dong newspaper has reported, more than 50 households here quickly agreed with the State's policy. People have donated land, dismantled a series of gates, fences and cut down trees to make way for machinery to enter the construction.
Returning to Minh Duc Zone 2 these days, there is no longer the messy scene of bricks, stones, and concrete of the early construction phase. Instead, there is a completely new appearance, the road has been expanded, and the new road surface is spacious and beautiful.
Thanks to the early handover of the site, the contractor has focused maximum manpower and machinery to accelerate the construction progress. The above-mentioned section has been completed very early, from December 22, 2025, about 9 months before the contract, the remaining section (asphalt paving section) has also been quickly completed ahead of schedule.
Meeting Mrs. Nguyen Thi Cu again - one of the first households to donate the most land with a large gate and about 50m of fence being demolished, she could not help but be proud and happy when looking at the new road: "At first, breaking the gate and fence, I was also very regretful. But for the long-term benefit and the whole village joined hands, we cannot be selfish. Now the road is wide, clean and beautiful, children and grandchildren go to school safely, trade is convenient, I see that the sacrifice before is completely deserved".
Sweet fruit from the spirit of "good life, beautiful religion
All households affected by the project in Minh Duc Zone 2 are parishioners of Minh Duc Parish (Thanh Uyen Parish). The results in site clearance and project construction work are from the spirit of solidarity, "living a good life and a beautiful religion" of the people here.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Do - Secretary of the Party Cell cum Head of Zone 2 Minh Duc - confided that as soon as he received the policy to expand the road, the residential area coordinated with the Religious Affairs Committee to go through every alley, knocking on every door to propagate. Seeing the immediate benefits of a synchronous transport infrastructure has helped people put aside their own interests.
High consensus comes from the spirit of solidarity for the community of parishioners. Thanks to the early handover of the site, the contractor did not encounter obstacles in the construction process, helping the project to be completed earlier than expected, bringing great joy to the people" - Mr. Do shared.
Mr. Kieu Quoc Phong - Chairman of Hien Quan Commune People's Committee - affirmed that the land donation movement to build roads in area 2 of Minh Duc village is a vivid proof of the spirit of solidarity and companionship between parishioners and authorities in building new rural areas.
The completed road meets the travel needs of the people, creating favorable conditions to promote rural economic models, contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality" - Chairman of Hien Quan Commune People's Committee assessed.
Along with that, from the effectiveness of site clearance, the early completion of the project not only helps save costs and reduce environmental pollution during construction, but also early promotes the effectiveness of state public investment capital.
