On January 22, Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh - Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial Red Cross Society said that the unit has just organized to mobilize people to participate in voluntary blood donation at the beginning of spring to promptly supplement blood sources for emergency and treatment, especially during Tet Nguyen Dan - a time when blood demand is high.
The program was organized in Duc Trong commune with the theme "Spring Blood Donation - Multiplying Happiness", attracting more than 400 officials, union members, association members and people to participate. The Organizing Committee received 326 units of blood, transferred to hospitals and medical facilities in the province to serve treatment.
According to Mr. Minh, the voluntary blood donation campaign every Lunar New Year has become an annual activity in Lam Dong, carrying practical significance and is a noble gesture, showing the nation's tradition of compassion.
Participating in blood donation at the program, Mr. Tran Viet Anh - Deputy Secretary of the Lam Dong Provincial Youth Union said that he started donating blood from his student days and has donated blood voluntarily more than 20 times to date.
Each blood donation brings a meaningful feeling, contributing to helping patients and spreading the spirit of'Love others as you love yourself', for community health," Mr. Viet Anh shared.
Sharing the same spirit, Ms. Van Thi Le Hoa - a teacher at Tran Phu Secondary School (Duc Trong commune) said that every year she donates blood 2-3 times and actively mobilizes relatives, friends, and colleagues to participate.
This is the 40th time I have donated blood voluntarily. I will continue to share meaningful blood drops with patients, because each drop of blood given is a life left behind," Ms. Hoa expressed.
