The sacred bond connecting Vietnamese people across five continents
Vietnamese people, regardless of where they live in the world, are still an inseparable part of their homeland and country. That is the sacred bond, the strong connection between children far from home and the beloved Fatherland of Vietnam. This spirit was mentioned by Politburo member and President Luong Cuong in the art exchange program "Spring Homeland 2025" earlier this year in Hanoi.
President Luong Cuong expressed his emotion when mentioning the spirit of overseas Vietnamese returning to their homeland: From thousands of miles away, the warm stories of community spirit, solidarity, and mutual love of our compatriots abroad, despite difficulties, have always returned to their homeland and country. The spirit of covering and "sharing food and clothes" to help domestic people affected by the historic storm Yagi (storm No. 3) continues to demonstrate the noble patriotism, loyal people's spirit, and the great national unity spirit that our people abroad have for the Fatherland and for our compatriots in the country".
In the process of building and developing the country, the Party and State always uphold and attach importance to the contributions of our compatriots abroad, together realizing the goal of building a strong and prosperous Vietnam - President Luong Cuong affirmed and called on our compatriots abroad to continue to unite, unite, nurture patriotism, join hands with our compatriots at home to carry the important mission of the nation.
According to Dr. Nguyen Viet Chuc - Deputy Head of the Advisory Council on Culture - Society, Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the above speech of President Luong Cuong affirmed that the spirit of great national unity is not limited by geography, but is a sacred bond connecting the hearts of Vietnamese people across five continents. And it is this solidarity that has created Vietnam's soft power in the international arena - when millions of overseas Vietnamese are a bridge between culture, economy, science and people's diplomacy, joining hands for the country's development goals.
Every victory of the nation comes from the strength of great solidarity
In his speech on August 24, 2025 at a meeting of Party and State leaders with representatives of all classes of people nationwide on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2, President Luong Cuong affirmed that every victory of the nation comes from the strength of great solidarity, unity, and continuous dedication of all classes of people under the leadership of the Party.
The President said that entering a new era, facing great opportunities and fortunes, but also full of challenges, it is necessary to further promote the spirit of patriotism, intelligence, and aspiration to rise up of the entire nation, continue to honor, spread, and promote the great role of the working class, farmers, intellectuals, ethnic minorities, religions, businessmen, and overseas Vietnamese in the process of building a rich, prosperous, civilized, and happy country.
The President suggested that the Vietnam Fatherland Front continue to promote its core political role in building and strengthening the invincible strength of the great national unity bloc; constantly innovate the content and methods of operation to widely gather, gather, and unite all classes of people, ethnicities, religions, businessmen and overseas Vietnamese; strongly arouse patriotism, self-reliance, and aspiration for development, build trust, create social consensus; promote the intelligence, resources and the subjective role of the people in the cause of building and defending the socialist Fatherland of Vietnam.
Strengthening people's trust in the leadership of the Party and State
The work of building and consolidating the great national unity bloc continued to be mentioned by President Luong Cuong in the President's Summary Report on the 2021-2026 term, when presented at the 10th Session of the 15th National Assembly on October 20.
The report stated: Determining the great national unity as a strategic goal and task, with vital significance for the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, the President always paid attention to consolidating and promoting the strength of great national unity in the cause of innovation and international integration; effectively directed the implementation of the Regulations on coordination between the President and the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; regularly exchanged and identified practical coordination contents; every year, there were summaries and lessons to better perfect this coordination mechanism. The President invited representatives of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to attend many important internal and external activities; at the same time, spend time attending many activities and events organized by the Vietnam Fatherland Front; participate in contributing opinions to improve the effectiveness of implementing the policies and guidelines of great solidarity of the Party and State.
In lessons learned, the President emphasized the lesson of promoting the people's mastery, respecting the people, being close to the people, serving the people wholeheartedly and wholeheartedly, serving the Fatherland; regularly listening to the opinions of the people and voters to reflect to the authorities with appropriate and effective policies and solutions. Continue to encourage all classes of people to promote the tradition of patriotism, the strength of great solidarity, national pride and self-respect, the aspiration to rise up, creating consensus in society to carry out the task of building, protecting and developing the country in the new era.
In his proposed direction and tasks for the coming time, the President mentioned the need to pay attention to consolidating and promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, strengthening the people's trust in the leadership of the Party and State... Increasing contact, meeting, and encouraging all classes of people, actively grasping the grassroots situation, promoting the role and contributions of social forces, religious organizations, ethnic communities, intellectuals, and overseas Vietnamese in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Society Ta Van Ha said that President Luong Cuong's messages about great national unity are strategic vocals - arousing the desire to contribute, strengthen trust and unlock all social resources for the country to develop rapidly and sustainably.
Through the President's statements, it can be seen that great solidarity is not only a traditional value but also a specific political task. Great solidarity no longer stops at the concept of spirit, but becomes a criterion for action, a standard of conduct and a measure of the people's trust in the Party and the State" - Mr. Ta Van Ha shared.
From resistance to peace, from reconstruction to integration, fear of being red all throughout the history of the nation is solidarity. The great national unity is not only a traditional value, but a championable strength that helps Vietnam confidently enter the era of prosperity - an era of strong and prosperous development under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam to build a socialist Vietnam, a rich people, a strong, fair and civilized country.
