Preserving and spreading Vietnamese has always received deep attention from the Party and State, demonstrated through policies to support the overseas Vietnamese community in preserving national identity and language. During their visits and work abroad, senior leaders always spend time meeting the Vietnamese community, giving books, textbooks, and exchanging directly with teachers and students of Vietnamese classes at home. These activities have greatly motivated the team of overseas Vietnamese teachers, who are dedicated to preserving Vietnamese, the "soul of the nation" in foreign lands.
At the end of August 2025, in Tianjin, during the program to attend the 2025 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit and work in China, Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with the Vietnamese community in China. At the meeting, the people were very happy that right after the Prime Minister's meeting with the Vietnamese community and students in the Kinh - Tan Ky region at the end of June, the Vietnamese Embassy in China urgently launched the first online Vietnamese language class in July for overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese citizens living, studying and working in China. Up to now, the class has maintained stable teaching and learning, receiving a very enthusiastic response from overseas Vietnamese, achieving positive results, contributing to strengthening community connections.
At the meeting, considering that preserving Vietnamese language means preserving the cultural identity and heroic traditions of the nation, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that he had directed the Embassies to deploy and replicate good models and good practices in teaching Vietnamese, contributing to helping our children abroad master Vietnamese, be attached to their homeland and country, and feel the heroic tradition in the process of building and defending the Fatherland.
Towards the homeland with all my heart
In the context of Vietnam continuously being affected by natural disasters and floods, many programs to share difficulties, help domestic people quickly overcome the consequences of natural disasters, stabilize their lives and express the deep affection of the Vietnamese community far from home for the Fatherland have been implemented by the Vietnamese community around the world.
On October 25, in Perth, Australia, hundreds of Vietnamese people and international friends attended the event "Run for Vietnam 2025 - Run for Viet Nam" to raise funds to support domestic people to overcome the consequences of floods. Sharing at the event, Consul General of Vietnam in Perth Nguyen Thanh Ha said that the event is a bridge connecting the hearts of overseas Vietnamese towards the Fatherland. Each step carries a message of care, love and responsibility for those who are away from home. It reminds us that geographical distance does not reduce love for the homeland and commitment to helping people in difficulty - Ms. Nguyen Thanh Ha emphasized.
On November 2, when the fundraising program to support people affected by floods in Vietnam was held in Perth, Australia, President of the Vietnam Women's Union of Western Australia (WAVNWA) Hong Jackson shared: "Every Vietnamese person, no matter where they are, carries in their heart the love of their homeland. When we know that our compatriots are facing difficulties, we just hope to contribute a small part to share the loss and send a message of Vietnamese love.
At the end of October 2025, in the warm atmosphere of patriotism, the Vietnamese community in southwestern Germany gathered to donate to support domestic people severely affected by the storm and flood. Mr. Dinh Van Nghia, representative of the organizing committee - said: "Every heart, no matter how small, carries a deep love for the homeland".

In the context of the active organization of collecting opinions from cadres, party members and people on draft documents submitted to the 14th National Congress of the Party, the overseas Vietnamese team - a force that is becoming a strategic resource of the country, both a soft strength and a bridge of friendship, cooperation and knowledge transfer between Vietnam and the world, there have been many enthusiastic contributions.
To promote the potential of more than 6 million overseas Vietnamese, including over 200,000 people in Germany, overseas Vietnamese in Germany Pham Khanh Nam made 3 proposals: Building a flexible coordination mechanism between diplomatic missions and overseas Vietnamese associations, to effectively implement people's, cultural, educational and economic diplomacy programs; Develop a network of "People's Ambassadors" in the global Vietnamese community, so that every overseas Vietnamese person can become a reliable bridge, close friends of Vietnam in the international arena; Promote the image of Vietnam as an integrative, humane and innovative country, through exchange activities, cultural - economic forums, scientific exhibitions and educational cooperation.
Regarding the consolidation of the great national unity bloc, overseas Vietnamese Pham Khanh Nam said that the spirit of " Taking the people as the root" is throughout the Draft documents of the 14th Congress.For the overseas Vietnamese community, this is a motto to strengthen trust and arouse the spirit of close relationship between overseas Vietnamese and the Fatherland.He proposed: Organizing regular policy dialogue between domestic agencies and overseas Vietnamese representatives, ensuring that the voices of overseas Vietnamese are listened to during the policy-making process; Simplifying administrative procedures, recognizing degrees, creating conditions for investment, repatriation and participating in national development projects; making the development of overseas Vietnamese communities a strategic component in building the great national unity bloc, considering it a part of the national soft power and a foundation to protect the Fatherland early and from afar.
Considering that promoting the strength of overseas Vietnamese is the realizing of the three major orientations of the Draft documents of the 14th National Party Congress, overseas Vietnamese Pham Khanh Nam believes that the 14th National Party Congress "will continue to arouse the strength of Vietnamese globally, bringing the country firmly on the path of prosperous, civilized and happy development".
Regarding the lesson of "strengthening and promoting the effectiveness of the strength of the people and the great national unity bloc" in the Draft of the 14th Congress Documents, overseas Vietnamese in Japan Nguyen Duy Anh emphasized: "For the global Vietnamese community, the most important thing is to maintain trust, respect and two-way connection between overseas Vietnamese and domestic". He said that there should be a regular dialogue mechanism between domestic leaders and overseas Vietnamese, so that the voices of intellectuals, businessmen and people abroad are listened to, respected and responded to promptly. At the same time, it is necessary to promote the role of socio-professional organizations as "soft bridges" of people's diplomacy. When every overseas Vietnamese person feels trusted, listened to and has the opportunity to contribute, natural confidence will be fostered and the strength of great national unity will become a sustainable resource, helping Vietnam firmly step on the path of development, integration and shine in the region as well as in the world - overseas Vietnamese Nguyen Duy Anh emphasized.
