By the end of June 2025, Cao Bang province has started construction of 6,644 out of more than 6,700 projects under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, reaching an impressive rate of 99.13%. Of which, nearly 5,600 houses have been completed, accounting for 83.45% of the total project.
According to the latest report from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Cao Bang province, before the district and commune government systems operate under the new administrative model, localities have made efforts to speed up progress and basically completed the groundbreaking work.
Some localities have achieved a construction start rate of 100%; the remaining localities have recorded progress exceeding 97.5%, with clear plans for cases that have not yet started construction.
The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Cao Bang also received the support of the community.

Nearly 50,700 working days, 34 tons of cement, about 30,000 bricks and more than 1,000 expanded boarding sheets have been contributed by cadres, people and organizations and individuals to support the construction of solid houses for people in difficult circumstances.
It is known that in 2025, Cao Bang province aims to support over 7,000 houses, with a total cost of over 300 billion VND. Leaders at all levels have requested each locality to sign a commitment to complete the support before August 31.
Regarding the above activities, the Cao Bang Provincial Fatherland Front Committee has stepped up propaganda and mobilized people, businesses, organizations and individuals inside and outside the province to contribute to the "For the Poor" Fund and the Social Security Fund. At the same time, coordinate with the Provincial People's Committee and departments to review and make a list of support for the right subjects, publicly and transparently.
From the beginning of 2025 to now, the Provincial Fatherland Front has received a total support budget of 134.66 billion VND.

The above funds have been allocated to districts to build new or repair houses for poor households, with support levels of 60 million VND/new house and 30 million VND/repaired house. The Ministry of Public Security alone allocated funds to 9 districts with a total of more than 2,500 houses.
This rainy season, the family of Mr. Dang Duc Van (Na Sai hamlet, Thai Hoc commune (old), Bao Lam district (now Yen Tho commune - PV) no longer has to worry about the thunderstorms. Thanks to the support of 44 million VND from the temporary house removal program, he boldly borrowed more, with the help of relatives and neighbors to build a house with a corrugated iron roof and sturdy brick walls.
"I work once in my life, so I am determined to build it solidly. No matter the difficulties, my wife and I will try to rise up, Mr. Van shared.
On the side of the People's Committee of Cao Bang province, the locality is also directing new communes and wards after the merger to continue to focus on human and material resources, speeding up the construction progress of the remaining projects.
