Determined to help people have a house in time before Tet
After 2 historic storms and floods occurred in November 2025, Gia Lai province recorded more than 51,800 houses flooded, 28,196 houses collapsed, swept away or heavily damaged.
Faced with heavy housing damage, the Prime Minister launched the "Quang Trung Campaign" with the goal of quickly building and repairing houses for people affected by storms and floods, and soon rebuilding homes before the 2026 Lunar New Year.

Immediately after the Prime Minister's direction, Gia Lai province mobilized the entire political system to repair and rebuild houses. After 1 month of campaign implementation, the whole province has completed the repair of 27,522 heavily damaged houses (100%). For 674 collapsed and swept away houses that must be rebuilt, the progress reached about 70%, expected to be completed before January 15, 2026.
To achieve this result, Gia Lai province has been closely involved in each direction and directly assigned responsibility to the head. The province assigned leaders of the Provincial People's Committee to be in charge according to the area, requesting the Secretary and Chairman of the commune level to go down to the village, closely follow each household, and promptly remove difficulties from the grassroots level.

To provide timely support, Gia Lai has issued specific policies: households with completely collapsed or swept away houses are supported with 60 million VND/house; households with severe damage are supported with 2-5 million VND/house; poor, near-poor households and families in difficult circumstances needing repair are supported with 20 million VND/house.
In parallel with housing construction, the province has arranged temporary accommodation, ensuring social security, and providing essential goods for people while waiting for new houses to be completed. To date, the province has spent more than 720 billion VND to support people in building and repairing houses and building resettlement areas. Policies are implemented publicly, transparently, and for the right people, helping people stabilize their lives soon.
Working tirelessly so that people can soon have a place to settle down
Throughout 1 month of campaign deployment, the army and police forces played a pillar role, especially in heavily damaged areas, remote and isolated areas - where construction faced many difficulties.
More than 2,000 officers and soldiers of the army and police of the province directly participated in repairing and building, working without days off, determined to rebuild homes for people before the 2026 Lunar New Year.

Colonel Nguyen Xuan Son - Deputy Political Commissar of Gia Lai Provincial Military Command - said that out of 674 newly built units, the army directly undertakes 106 units, currently reaching about 40% of the volume. Although the goal is to complete by January 31, 2026, more than 700 soldiers are striving to reach the finish line sooner, before January 15, 2026.
Even during the 4-day New Year holiday, the force still continuously constructs, taking advantage of each hour to complete the task, helping people get back home," said Colonel Nguyen Xuan Son.
Regarding the police force, Colonel Ngo Cu Vinh - Deputy Director of Gia Lai Provincial Police - said that the entire force is supporting the construction of 107 houses (87 houses are assigned by the province and 20 houses are funded by the Ministry of Public Security).
We determine that we must complete and hand over the entire project before January 15, 2026. Therefore, nearly 700 officers and soldiers are working non-stop, working day and night, throughout the New Year to keep up with the set schedule," Mr. Vinh said.
In Tuy Phuoc commune, up to now, 2/16 houses have been completed and handed over to the people. Vice Chairman of Tuy Phuoc Commune People's Committee Thai Van Thuan said that, along with the support of the army and police forces, commune organizations have regularly supplied water and food to the construction force; youth and militia contribute to help people have new houses soon.
Houses handed over are all very excited to have new, safe accommodation before Tet. The common goal is that all remaining houses must be completed before January 15, 2026," Mr. Thuan said.
