On November 4, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a session to inform about the situation of mobilizing, receiving and distributing voluntary contributions to support people to overcome the damage caused by storms and floods in 2025.
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that the unit has completed the allocation of 18,996 bags of household medicine and divided them into 2 main phases. In the first phase, 15,896 bags of medicine were mobilized from 35 units including medical facilities, units, general hospitals, and specialized hospitals in the area. In the second phase, 3,500 bags of medicine were mobilized from 11 support units.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health continuously connects with the Departments of Health of provinces affected by storms and floods to update support needs. Of this amount, a part is allocated according to the needs sent by localities. Therefore, the medicine bags were received and delivered to localities in a timely manner.

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers' Association said that the total budget mobilized by the unit to date has reached nearly 800 million VND. The unit has been contacted and transferred support to localities and farmers' associations in Ha Tinh, Thai Nguyen, Quang Tri provinces...
Recently, in Binh Loi commune (old Binh Chanh district, Ho Chi Minh City), high tides have caused great damage. The unit has coordinated with competent authorities to survey and mobilize resources to minimize the impact. The total area affected is about 540 hectares, mainly yellow apricot growing area.
The unit has urgently repaired damaged drainage culverts, at the same time, increased forces and mobilized 20 pumps to operate continuously. Thanks to that, the damage has decreased significantly. The pumping and drainage work is still being maintained and is expected to last until November 9.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City said that today's information session aims to ensure publicity and transparency in receiving, mobilizing and distributing contributions from the Party Committee of the government and all classes of people in the city.
This year, the weather is complicated and unpredictable, not following natural laws, causing great impact on many localities. Therefore, in addition to supporting localities affected by storms and floods, Ho Chi Minh City also needs to pay attention to vulnerable areas in the area, where high tides and flooding affect production and people's lives.
Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc emphasized that support needs to be focused on, closely following practical needs to promote efficiency, ensuring that contributions are delivered to the right place, right time, right subjects, and have practical significance.
At the donation reception on November 4, 22 units, enterprises, organizations and individuals registered and donated with a total amount of money and goods of VND 6,122,514,083, of which VND 976,000,000 was goods.
