Honoring young scientists who won the Golden Ball Award in 2025

The 10 most outstanding young scientists were honored with the Golden Ball Award for Science and Technology in 2025 in 5 national strategic science and technology fields.

On the evening of October 29, in Hanoi, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union coordinated with the Ministry of Science and Technology to organize the Golden Bridge of Science and Technology Award Ceremony and the Vietnam Women's Science and Technology Award in 2025. Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Fatherland Front (FFF), Central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front attended and spoke at the ceremony.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Bui Quang Huy, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and representatives of leaders of departments, branches, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Central organizations; research centers, universities, schools and a large number of union members, youth and students in Hanoi.

This is an annual national science and technology event, aiming to honor outstanding young talents in the field of science and technology, contributing to the implementation of the Party and State's policy on developing high-quality scientific and technological human resources; discovering, nurturing and promoting the young talented intellectuals of Vietnam in the period of accelerating the development of science and technology, innovation and national digital transformation according to Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo.

Accordingly, after the Council's careful selection rounds, the 10 best young scientists were honored with the Golden Globe Award for Science and Technology in 2025 in 5 areas of national strategic science and technology: Information Technology, digital transformation and automation, Medical - Pharmaceutical Technology, Biotechnology, Environmental Technology, New Industry.

The 20 best female students were awarded in the fields of information technology, computer, mechanics, electricity - electronics - telecommunications, health, environment, applied biology and architecture - construction works.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and with personal affection, Mr. Do Van Chien - Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Party Committee, Central organizations, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front sent his respectful greetings to the delegates; and to the young scientists and female students of science and technology who have just been honored with the most respectful affection and best wishes.

Mr. Do Van Chien emphasized that in the era of globalization and the fourth industrial revolution, science, technology and innovation have become the core foundation that determines the national position. The countries that lead in technology and innovation are the countries that will shape and lead the future of humanity.

Young scientists honored with this year's Golden Ball Award for Science and Technology are contributing to solving major challenges not only for Vietnam but for the whole of humanity - from climate change, clean energy, artificial intelligence, precision medicine to new materials technology.

In the coming time, the Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front requested departments, ministries, branches, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, and central organizations to review, update, and perfect specific institutions and policies on detecting, selecting, fostering and promoting young talents in science and technology. Issue preferential policies on taxes, land, credit and access to innovation funds for young research groups and technology startups.

On this occasion, Chairman Do Van Chien commended and highly appreciated the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for successfully fulfilling the mission of discovering, nurturing and honoring Vietnamese young talents, contributing to affirming the pioneering and pioneering role of Vietnamese youth in the cause of developing the country through knowledge, science and technology, innovation and global integration; at the same time, he also respectfully acknowledged the companionship, support and sharing of the business community, universities, research institutes, scientific organizations and media agencies that have joined hands to build an ecosystem to nurture Vietnamese talents and innovation.

The Party, State, and Vietnam Fatherland Front always believe and expect Vietnamese youth to nurture the aspiration to be creative, committed, scientific research, and constantly innovate to bring Vietnamese intelligence to the regional and world level, contributing significantly to building a strong, prosperous, civilized, and happy country, Mr. Do Van Chien emphasized.
