According to the People's Committee of Bac Lieu city, after the riverbank landslide on April 30, the city directed the city's Department of Agriculture and Environment to coordinate with the People's Committee of Nha Mat ward to contain the landslide area.

At the same time, stretching, plugging signs to warn and protect people living in the known area, to proactively prevent landslides. Directing the People's Committee of Nha Mat ward to send 24/24 forces; coordinate with the Department of Irrigation and Management of the provincial works (Department of Agriculture and Environment of Bac Lieu province), People's Committee of Nha Mat ward accelerates the implementation of the landslide overcoming.
The expected time to complete reinforcing the landslide section in June 2025 is to ensure people's safe travel and limit damage.

The landslide location has frog's jaw, cracked soil for a long section, exposing concrete adjacent to the fence of a house with signs of subsidence, the authorities have closed a steel retaining system to create a retaining wall to ensure the land is not eroded or subsided, causing danger to neighboring areas.

In addition, in this area, when the water is high and the net water flows very strongly and whirl, if not reinforced in time, landslides can easily continue.
Previously, on March 12, a section of the landslide was about 3m wide and the length of the section was about 30m. Immediately after receiving information about the landslide, the Chairman of the Bac Lieu Provincial People's Committee issued a document requesting immediate remediation.
By May 17, this location continued to experience subsidence and landslides on a section of road with a width of about 3m and a length of about 15m, at risk of cutting off traffic.
The initial cause was determined to be erosion caused by strong currents from the East Sea and the influence of tides causing landslides, this area has seen a deep slide.
