According to information from the People's Committee of Quang Hoa district, the fire started at 8:40 am on April 13 and until about 21h the same day was basically controlled. The original reason was determined by Mr. Ma Kien Giang, residing in Yen Lac hamlet (Chi Thao commune), burning elephant grass at Nuong near the foot of the mountain. Facing the increased risk of forest fires due to prolonged hot weather, Cao Bang People's Committee has issued a document to direct departments, branches and localities to strengthen measures to prevent forest fires.
