On November 5, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee said that it had issued instructions related to the broken reservoir in the project of Viet Farm Company on Tan Lai Mountain, Tuy Phong Commune.
This high-tech Agricultural project under the VAC model has a total area of over 346 hectares, granted an investment policy since 2018 and a construction permit in June 2025.

The main items are chicken farms, production areas, greenhouses, slaughter areas, chicken feed processing areas, office buildings, staff and worker dormitories, etc.
During the field inspection by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Binh Thuan province (before the arrangement) in August 2024, the authorities recorded that the project had 6 ponds, of which 3 ponds were used to store water and release fish.
Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee believes that these 6 ponds are not in the investment policy, not in the approved environmental impact assessment report, and are not subject to the granted Construction Permit.
At the same time, the company designing and constructing dams and reservoirs according to Decree No. 114/2018/ND-CP must meet relevant regulations.
However, the reservoirs still existed in the project and a reservoir failure occurred on the evening of November 1, causing very serious consequences.

On November 2, the authorities inspected the scene and the company had not provided any relevant documents according to the regulations.
Sharing with reporters, Mr. Tran Quang Tinh - Director of Trang Trai Viet Company said that this lake is often planted with semi-flooded rice in the dry season and the capacity is less than 500,000m3, so it does not require construction permits. He also believes that the reservoir breach was a natural disaster.
Through the above incident, Lam Dong province requested Trang Trai Viet Company to urgently overcome the consequences for affected households and canals.
At the same time, the company is requested to pump and drain water from all ponds and reservoirs in the project area, and the drainage must ensure safety for the downstream area.

After removing the drainage, the dams to prevent water were demolished, absolutely not depositing water, causing danger to downstream.
The Provincial Police preside over and coordinate a comprehensive investigation into the causes of pond and reservoir failures, and check the legality of ponds and reservoirs in the project.
