On the evening of August 20, Mr. Luu Hong Long - Chairman of Da Huoai Commune People's Committee (Lam Dong) - said that the locality is directing functional departments to statistically assess damage caused by the tornado that occurred in the afternoon of the same day.

According to Mr. Long, the tornado has caused many durian trees of people to break branches and be uprooted. Currently, the locality does not have specific statistics on the area and extent of damage.
In addition to durian, many houses in the area also had their roofs blown off. Green trees on some roads were broken and fallen, affecting traffic.



In Da Huoai 2 commune, damage caused by tornadoes uprooting and breaking also occurred on many durian areas.

Local authorities are coordinating with forces to review and statistically assess damage to have a plan to support people to overcome the consequences.
Previously, in the afternoon of August 20, heavy rain accompanied by tornadoes occurred in many localities in the south of Lam Dong province, including Bao Loc, Bao Lam and Da Huoai. The natural disaster caused dozens of houses to have their roofs blown off, many green trees and forest trees to be uprooted and fallen.

On National Highway 20, fallen forest trees in the Deo Chuoi and Deo Bao Loc areas caused traffic obstruction. Functional forces quickly arrived, saw down trees, cleared the road surface, and ensured traffic.
Local authorities also mobilized police, military, militia and youth union members to support people in moving property, repairing houses and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters.
Currently, localities continue to review and statistically assess damage caused by heavy rain and tornadoes.
