On May 31, the "loving supermarket" in Ward 5 (District 5) brought warm joy to 135 disadvantaged households. With shopping vouchers worth 350,000 VND, people can personally choose essential goods, not only receiving material support but also feeling the care and sharing of the community.
The program "Loving Supermarket" was organized by the Party Committee - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and mass organizations of Ward 5 (District 5), with the goal of promoting the tradition of "good leaves to protect torn leaves" and improve the sense of responsibility of the political system in social security.
The special feature of the model is that instead of giving gifts according to a fixed package, 135 people in difficulty receive a voucher worth 350,000 VND and are free to choose necessary items at the supermarket. The products are all high-quality Vietnamese goods, safe food, clear origin and deeply discounted, helping each voucher worth 350,000 VND to buy an amount of goods equivalent to 500,000 VND compared to foreign markets.
Ms. Tran Thi Anh Tu - Vice Chairman of Ward 5 People's Committee, said: "We hope that this model will not only care for material things, but also contribute to raising public awareness of the spirit of sharing and caring for difficult circumstances in society".
Mr. Vo Thanh Toi - Chairman of Ward 5 People's Committee, shared: "Each family has different circumstances and needs, so letting people choose their own products is a more humane and practical way. That is also the way we change the way we give gifts, from passive to proactive, from simple support to close attention to real needs.
The joy of the program is spread through each story of the people. Ms. Tran Thi Yen (living in District 5) was moved to say that she had just left the hospital after her son's blood filtration. She stopped by the supermarket, holding a shopping voucher in her hand, eyes wide wide: "My family is in a difficult situation, I alone take care of my old husband, sick child, and two young children. Markets like this are truly a great source of encouragement".
Ms. Ngoc Sang, 74 years old, despite her poor health still took an early motorbike taxi. happily choosing necessary items, she shared: Its like going to the market without having to pay. He was also advised and supported by a few young officials as if he was in a supermarket. It's fun.
The "Love Supermarket" program not only cares for the lives of disadvantaged people but also spreads a message of compassion among the community, affirming the meaning of caring and sharing in society.
