At around 12 noon on December 9, while on duty to guard the Provincial Border Guard Command, Coast Guard soldier Phan Tan Dat discovered a black leather wallet that had fallen right in front of the unit gate.
Comrade Dat picked up, reported and handed over the assets to Senior Lieutenant Rah Lan Kiet - Assistant to the Internal - External Inspection, Professional Affairs Department - the person on duty during the day.
After receiving the report, Senior Lieutenant Kiet quickly reported to the unit commander. After checking, the wallet contained many important documents, including an ID card and a bank card in the name of Mr. Mikhail VladisLavovich.
The unit then coordinated with the local police to conduct verification and at the same time notify to find the owner through information channels and social networks.
By the morning of December 11, the Russian tourist had contacted and directly gone to Khanh Hoa Border Guard to receive all of his assets.
He expressed his joy and thanked the officers and soldiers of the Khanh Hoa Border Guard for their good deeds, responsible spirit and dedicated support.
The quick search for and return of assets to people and tourists shows the spirit of serving the people and the good qualities of the Border Guard.
