On May 12, at the flag-raising ceremony at the beginning of the week, Lai Son Commune Police (Kien Hai District, Kien Giang Province) was authorized by the Chairman of the Commune People's Committee to award Certificates of Merit for the act of "Good people, good deeds" to 2 students of Lai Son Secondary and High School for their noble gestures, picking up lost property, and returning it to the owner.
2 students were rewarded, Dang Thanh Gioi and Huynh Tan Nguyen, born in 2009, currently in class 10A1 Secondary School and Lai Son High School. Earlier, on the afternoon of April 26, 2025, while walking on the road section of Group 7, Bai Nha A Hamlet, Lai Son Commune, 2 children discovered a wallet falling by the road, inside there were nearly 6 million dong in cash and a gold bracelet. Shortly thereafter, the two children brought all the property to Lai Son Commune Police reported and handed over.
After receiving, the commune police quickly verified and determined that the owner of the property was Ms. N.T.M.T (born in 1993, residing in Group 7, Bai Nha A hamlet, Lai Son commune). According to Ms. T, the property falls exactly as the information provided by the two children, of which the bracelet is 18k gold, worth about 20 million. The commune police organized the full handling of assets to the lost people as prescribed.
The two students also shared that when they picked up lost items and thought about the lost ones, they would be very worried and hope to find them again. The two students quickly went to report to the police.
