On February 4, social networks spread the story of a woman in Hanoi who picked up a gold bag with a transaction invoice and proactively posted information to find the person who dropped it to return it.
Accordingly, Facebook account Nguyen Kieu Van posted information that while passing by Phu Quy gold shop, Tran Nhan Tong branch, she picked up 2 gold purchase transaction tickets. Going about 500m further, she continued to pick up a red bag, inside which there was a lot of gold. To avoid giving it to the wrong person, Ms. Van did not publicly disclose the amount of gold and left a contact phone number, hoping to find the owner soon.
The incident attracted a lot of attention and sharing from the online community, especially in the context of high gold prices.
Talking to a reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper at noon on February 4, 2026, Ms. Nguyen Kieu Van (residing in An Duong, Hong Ha ward, Hanoi City) confirmed that the above content is correct. According to Ms. Van, at about 10 am on February 3, 2026, on the way to visit a friend at the Central Eye Hospital, when passing through Tran Nhan Tong street area, she picked up 2 gold purchase invoices, then continued to pick up a gold bag not far away.

Realizing that this was a valuable asset, Ms. Van thought that the person who dropped it must be very worried. Based on the information on the invoice, she called the gold buyer's phone number many times but could not be reached, so she decided to post the information on social networks to find the owner.
Not long after, a woman contacted Ms. Van, confirming that she was the one who dropped the gold. For convenience and safety, Ms. Van stood at the correct location where she picked up the property on Tran Nhan Tong street to wait for someone to pick it up. After checking her personal papers to avoid confusion, she returned all the gold to the person who dropped it.
Ms. Van said that she herself is a teacher, currently the principal of a private kindergarten in Hanoi. Returning property, according to her, is normal and not for the purpose of attracting views or personal promotion. She also said that because she contacted the person who dropped it directly and clearly identified the owner, she did not report it to the police agency.
People who lose large assets are often very scared, I just hope to find the fastest and safest way to return them," Ms. Van shared, and said that this is the first time she has encountered a situation of picking up gold on the road.
