The Canh Tang Reservoir Project is invested by the Irrigation Construction and Investment Management Board 1 - Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in the Reservoir Headworks Construction Component. Lac Son District People's Committee is the Investor in the Site Clearance Compensation and Resettlement Support Component.
This project is one of the four key projects of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and is a key project of Hoa Binh province.
The project scale includes: a reservoir with a capacity of about 95 million m3, with items: river dam, flood spillway, water intake culvert and auxiliary works located in Yen Phu commune, Lac Son district, Hoa Binh province; water supply pipeline system located in Lac Son and Yen Thuy districts, Hoa Binh province.
The Canh Tang reservoir project was approved by the Prime Minister in April 2017 and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2022. However, due to problems with site clearance and funding, the project has not yet been completed.
In 2023, the Prime Minister decided to adjust the project investment policy, increasing the total project investment from VND 3,115 billion to VND 4,128 billion (an increase of VND 1,013 billion), extending the completion date to 2026.
