HUE - The Phong Dien - Dien Loc rescue road project with a total investment of more than 770 billion VND is about to be completed after more than 10 years of waiting.
On July 7, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, a representative of the Hue City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the Phong Dien - Dien Loc rescue project is entering the final stage with many key items completed.According to the progress report, up to now, the section from Km1+500 to Km9+800, Thiem Bridge and Bau Bang Bridge have been handed over and put into use. The railway overpass, an important item, has been completed, the construction unit is focusing on railing, cleaning and clearing the site.The first section of the route from Km0 to Km1+500, including all 4 residential access roads within the railway overpass, has also been completed. Similarly, the bridge sections of Hoa Xuan 1 and Hoa Xuan 2 bridges have been completed.The intersection with National Highway 1A is now basically completed. Contractors are urgently painting lines on the median strip and handling in-field intersections.At the same time, the work of planting trees, installing lighting, and cleaning is also being accelerated, striving to complete before July 15, 2025.Regarding the capital plan, the total capital allocated for the project is currently VND66 billion.According to Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter in early July, the entire route was basically smooth, many vehicles were circulating on the route after more than 10 years of waiting.Workers are busy clearing both sides of the road.Traffic signs have also been fully installed.The Project Management Board said that the construction unit is focusing on speeding up the construction of the final section of the route and the intersections for people to complete the entire project and inaugurate it on September 2, 2025.
The Phong Dien - Dien Loc rescue road project worth more than 770 billion VND was started in 2012 with a total length of more than 16.2km. The starting point of the project intersects with National Highway 1A in Phong Dien Ward and the end point is at Phong Phu Ward beach, Hue City.
The project was approved in 2010 by the Hue City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board as the investor.
The goal of the project is to complete the infrastructure of the Tam Giang - Cau Hai lagoon area, proactively prevent and respond to natural disasters and promote socio-economic development.
The project is expected to be completed after 3 years from the start date. However, it has been 13 years since the project was ready to reach the finish line. The reason is that this project is included in the list of projects allocated capital from the Central Rescue and Road Construction Program. However, after the Government tightened public investment, this project had to temporarily suspend construction.
Faced with that situation, in January 2024, the People's Council of Thua Thien Hue province (now the People's Council of Hue city) adjusted and added more than 100 billion VND.
