The district party committee headquarters is not an abandoned house for people to bring cranes to dig up trees and bring them back

The story is like a joke: Vinh Loi District Party Committee, Bac Lieu Province owes bonuses to bonsai trees but does not pay, people let cranes into the district Party Committee's yard to dig up trees and take them home.

The incident of the ornamental plant owner bringing a car to the Vinh Loi District Party Committee (Bac Lieu) to transport the tree back because he had not been paid for it was a ironic situation, but it is worth taking financial discipline, administrative discipline, and especially the reputation of the district-level public authority seriously.

The story of Vinh Loi District Party Committee owing people money for trees is similar in nature to the case of a restaurant in Dak R'lap district, Dak Nong province accusing a staff member of the People's Committee of a commune or town of owing nearly 180 million VND for rice and water for the past 9 years.

Not only a restaurant, but recently many more businesses have also in Dak R'lap district accused officials of People's Committees of communes and towns of owing money to buy goods for many years.

It is worth mentioning that the story of district and commune-level cadres owing money for food, goods or the district Party Committee itself owing money for people's crops, causing a lot of public opinion and losing the trust of people like this is not the first time, nor is it only in Bac Lieu or Dak Nong.

And this exposes a very alarming hidden corner of the behavior and financial discipline of a part of the civil service, which if there were no pressure to merge the apparatus, we would not have many opportunities to be seen clearly as it is now.

Back to the story of Vinh Loi District Party Committee of Bac Lieu province. The district Party Committee owes money to buy trees but does not pay them back, to the point that the villagers come to the headquarters to dig trees and take them away as if "shorting off debt" is too wrong, too wrong.

But the problem is: where is the headquarters of a district party committee, not an abandoned house where people can bring cranes to the site to dig up trees - which is public property, to take out without anyone stopping it?

And why was the digging of this tree discovered by a hamlet chief and then there was a scene recorder without the security guard or the person responsible for the District Party Committee?

Whether it was a private house or a business headquarters, the story could be easier to explain. But here is the district Party Committee - the district-level political leadership agency, where the meeting, decision-making, and playing the role of the brain of the local political system are very difficult to understand and cannot be accepted for any reason.

The incident at Vinh Loi District Party Committee shows the laxity and a management gap in many aspects in the context of the "dark and morning" timetable, when there is only a short time left for the whole country to terminate district-level operations to operate according to the 2-level local government model.

The district level, even if there is only one more day of operation, must maintain solemnity, order and order, especially at the headquarters of the district Party Committee.

The fact that people arbitrarily bring cranes to the office to dig trees to bring back, even if it is due to unpaid debts, needs to be clarified and strictly handled.

But not only the people digging the trees, but the cadres and leaders of the Vinh Loi District Party Committee also had to be handled to set an example and regain the people's trust.
