From November 10 to December 10, 2025, Tu Du Hospital, Facility 2, received more than 5,000 outpatient visits. The number of people coming for examination has increased every week, showing that people's trust in the newly established medical facility is increasingly high.
Currently, the hospital has synchronously deployed many specialties such as Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, Obstetrics, Traditional Medicine, Eye, Ears - Nose - throat, Dermatology, Dentistry, and Maxillofacial Surgery... Common diseases include high blood pressure, upper respiratory tract infections, bronchitis, normal pregnancy monitoring, diabetes... accounting for a high proportion, accurately reflecting the disease model in the community as well as the suitability of the technical services being provided.
In the first month of operation, the hospital performed 12 surgeries and 2 regular births, including many important techniques such as endoscopic surgery for excretion, bone combined surgery, cesarean section and emergency endoscopic surgery for the newborn and ruptured uterus.
Notably, many emergency and critical obstetrics and gynecology cases have been successfully treated in Can Gio, helping patients not have to travel far to the city center. Typically, the first operation of excess enterocolitis after just over 10 days of the hospital being put into operation; the emergency treatment of a pregnant woman from Thieng Lieng Island who had labor at night; the emergency endoscopy of an eczema, helping the patient recover quickly.
The above results show the professional capacity of the rotating and on-duty medical team at the hospital, and at the same time affirm the effectiveness of the multidisciplinary linkage model with end-line hospitals in Ho Chi Minh City.
In the initial phase, the hospital recorded 92 transfers, mainly cases requiring intensive intervention or paraclinical techniques that have not been deployed at facility 2. The transfer was carried out on schedule, on the right route, with close coordination between Tu Du Hospital and leading hospitals such as Gia Dinh People's Hospital, People's Hospital 115, Cho Ray, Binh Dan, Nhi Dong, Oncology, Pham Ngoc Thach...
A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that compared to before, the rate and level of hospitalization have decreased significantly, contributing to saving time, costs and reducing risks for people in the coastal area. Initial results after a month of operation have confirmed the correctness of the policy of implementing the second facility model of end-line hospitals, bringing high-quality healthcare closer to people far from the center, contributing to ensuring fairness in health care.
In the coming time, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health will continue to direct Tu Du Hospital, Facility 2, to supplement facilities, supplement modern equipment, expand technical portfolios, increase human resources and connect expertise, aiming to build this place into a modern general hospital in Can Gio, better serving the health care needs of the people.
