Sending a question to the Ministry of Health, reader N.H.N said: "I am studying for a master's degree in obstetrics and gynecology, expected to complete the study program in November 2026.
May I ask, if my master's degree was signed before January 1, 2027, but the application for a practice license for obstetrics and gynecology was signed after January 1, 2027, do I have to take the exam to get a practice license? ".
Regarding this issue, the Ministry of Health responded as follows:
Clause 6, Article 121 of the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment 2023 stipulates:
"6. Applicants who are granted a practice license under the title of doctor from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026 do not have to take a professional capacity assessment test as prescribed in this Law".
Thus, the application for a practice license from January 1, 2027 must be tested for professional capacity assessment.
