On the afternoon of July 9, Children's Hospital 2 in Ho Chi Minh City said it was treating a 9-year-old boy who was seriously injured after a particularly serious traffic accident on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway.
According to Dr. Huynh Thi Thuy Kieu - Head of the Emergency Department, the baby was transferred from Binh Thuan General Hospital in the morning of the same day in a state of multiple injuries, including pulmonary contusion, liver damage, spleen injury and signs of bleeding in the abdomen.
"Fortunately, the level of lung blockage is not severe, respiratory function is still guaranteed. The child is alert, being supported with oxygen therapy, antibiotics, tetanus vaccination and continuing to be closely monitored, said Dr. Kieu. The child's condition is currently in a critical stage, being continuously monitored by the team of doctors and reassuring him.
A boy was injured in an accident between two sleeper buses that occurred in the early morning of July 9 on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet Expressway. The accident caused three people to die on the spot.
In addition to the boy who was transferred to Ho Chi Minh City, more than 40 others were injured and treated at Binh Thuan General Hospital. Most of them had only minor scratches and were discharged the same day.
