Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Giang Nam - Director of Dien Bien Department of Health - said that despite many difficulties, the Provincial General Hospital has performed emergency care and emergency surgery to save many complicated injury accidents, successfully saving many patients.
"One of the outstanding achievements that hospital staff have achieved is the successful connection of a leg almost broken due to a traffic accident," said Mr. Nam.
Accordingly, the hospital's medical team successfully performed surgery to connect blood vessels, nerves and tendons in the left leg, helping the patient maintain the leg and recover good mobility after surgery.

According to the Director of the Department of Health, this success not only demonstrates the professional capacity and professional courage of the doctors of the Provincial General Hospital, but also affirms the capacity of the entire Dien Bien health sector in handling serious and complicated injuries.
"This brings confidence and hope to patients in remote, isolated and disadvantaged areas, contributing to improving the quality of medical examination and treatment, creating trust for people in the province", the Director of the Department of Health emphasized.
To promptly recognize and encourage, the People's Committee of Dien Bien province has awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 individuals; the Department of Health has awarded Certificates of Merit to 6 individuals.
As Lao Dong reported, Dien Bien General Hospital received and treated male patient V.H.T (born in 2000, residing in Thanh Yen commune) in a state of left-footed deformities due to a traffic accident.
At the time of hospitalization, patient T had multiple injuries, left forehead soft tissue injured, and a multiple fracture of the left rib. In particular, the deformity of the left ankle and the wound was almost severed.
Immediately after the urgent consultation, the patient was transferred directly to the operating room. The surgery lasted about 4 hours and ended at 3:00 p.m. the same day.
Doctors performed surgery to reconnect the severed limb (left leg), and performed a duodenal drainage and treated the patient's scalp locust.
