On October 26 in Hanoi, the Ministry of Health organized the 8th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Health Sector (20252030) with the message "Solidarity - Creativity - Confidence in entering the era of national growth". The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan and nearly 500 delegates representing health agencies and units across the country.
Emulation creates momentum for innovation in the health sector
Speaking at the congress, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long praised the results achieved by the whole sector. He said that the new development context not only opens up many opportunities but also poses great challenges such as: Changing the disease structure, rapid population aging, environmental pollution, cross-border disease control requirements and increasingly high and diverse demand for medical services.
To continue to develop strongly, the Deputy Prime Minister suggested that the health sector focus on a number of key tasks:
Strengthen solidarity, share responsibilities, build a fair and modern healthcare system that is "efficient" and equitable.
Strictly implement the policies and guidelines of the Party and State, especially Resolution No. 72 of the Politburo and the Government's Action Program in protecting and caring for people's health.
Improving medical ethics, each medical staff needs to maintain the quality of "medical salary as from the model", respect the dignity and rights of patients, and be honest in their expertise.
Promote digital transformation, deploy electronic medical records, connect health data, apply artificial intelligence to diagnosis and treatment.
Innovating emulation and reward work in a transparent, fair and timely manner, especially paying attention to frontline forces and remote areas.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized: Protecting, caring for and improving people's health is the top political task of the entire system. We hope that the entire health sector will continue to be more determined and make more efforts to contribute to the country's rapid and sustainable development goals".

arousing the spirit of "medical salary as from the model"
At the congress, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan affirmed that the past 5 years have been a challenging period. The health sector must simultaneously respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters, climate change and many global health problems. In that context, the team of doctors and medical staff has promoted a high sense of responsibility, making efforts to forget themselves to protect the lives and health of the people.
The emulation movements have created a widespread influence: Special movements "The whole country is united, joined hands, and unanimously compete in preventing, fighting and defeating the COVID-19 pandemic", movements "The health sector has 70 years of following Uncle Ho's teachings", movements "Innovating style and attitude of service, towards the satisfaction of patients" ... These activities not only encourage the spirit of health care workers but also make positive changes in the way of serving, treating patients, improving medical ethics and the quality of medical examination and treatment.
The Minister emphasized: "Patriotism has become a strong driving force for each individual and unit in the industry to strive to overcome difficulties, innovate and achieve many important achievements; contributing to the completion and exceeding of the goals of protecting, caring for and improving people's health".
At the congress, many collectives and individuals were awarded the Labor Medal and Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Health, recognizing the silent but important contributions of the medical team across the country. Many units have become bright spots such as Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital pioneering digital transformation; Central Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion leading the blood donation movement; Viet Duc Friendship Hospital, Cho Ray, Hue Central Hospital developing high technology and organ transplantation. The Congress affirmed the determination to build a modern and humane health sector, taking the people as the center and aiming for sustainable development.
