The latest storm and low pressure forecast from the Philippine weather agency PAGASA says that from now until December 5, there will be 2 low pressure areas forming in and near the East Sea.
Forecast, low pressure near the East Sea formed first. This low pressure is likely to appear in the east of the Southern Luzon - Visayas - Mindanao region.
The second low pressure area is expected to form southwest of the Philippine weather bureau's PMD forecast area. The second low pressure area is over the South China Sea, in the southern part of the South China Sea.
Philippine typhoon forecasters say two low pressure systems around the East Sea expected to appear on the last day of November and the first five days of December are unlikely to strengthen into storms.
Also in the storm forecast bulletin released by PAGASA, forecasters said that during the week from December 6 to 12, no low pressure or strong storm is expected to form in the forecast area of the Philippines.
In its latest weather bulletin, PAGASA expert Benison Estareja noted that cloud clusters have formed between the Visayas and Mindanao. A low pressure area is expected to form between the two areas over the weekend. However, PAGASA forecasters say that based on current data, the new low pressure area is unlikely to become a typhoon.
“Our assessment is that the depression has little chance of strengthening into a tropical storm, but it will bring rain to many areas of the Philippines this weekend,” Estareja said.
The influence of a low pressure system near the South China Sea is expected to impact weather conditions in Southern Luzon, including Bicol, Calabarzon and Mimaropa regions this weekend. In addition to the tropical depression, a tropical convergence zone is forecast to bring rains to the Visayas and parts of Mindanao.
According to the Manila Times' morning weather report on November 30, the tropical convergence zone, wind shear and the northeast monsoon or amihan will continue to affect the Philippines' weather in the coming days.
PAGASA said cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected over Mindanao, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Negros Island, Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo and Palawan due to the influence of the tropical convergence zone.
Meanwhile, scattered rains and thunderstorms are forecast in Bicol, Quezon, Laguna and Rizal regions due to wind shear.
The northeast monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies and rains in Cagayan Valley, Cordillera and Aurora regions.
The rest of the Philippines will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered showers or thunderstorms.
