The latest storm and low pressure forecast on January 28 by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Agency (PAGASA) said that a new low pressure area may form near the East Sea in the week from February 4 to February 10.
It is forecast that this low pressure will appear in the southeast of PAGASA's PMD forecast area and then gradually shift westward, approaching the Philippines.
According to Philippine forecasters, the new low pressure is unlikely to strengthen into a storm or tropical depression.
According to Philippine weather forecasters, it is forecast that in February there is a possibility of 0 to 1 storm forming. Currently, the weather in this country is affected by the northeast monsoon, with breaks in wind.
Northeast monsoon and intermittent winds are affecting most of the Philippines, leading to cold weather, cloudy skies and light rain.
Wind cuts are forecast to make the sky cloudy, with scattered rain and scattered thunderstorms in Caraga and South Leyte. In Metro Manila, Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora and Quezon, the northeast monsoon makes the sky cloudy, with light rain.
PAGASA weather expert Aldczar Aurelio said that strong northeast monsoon will continue to bring cold weather affecting most of Luzon and Visayas regions. It is forecast that the northeast monsoon will last until January 29 and weaken at the end of the week.
Meanwhile, the remaining areas of Mindanao are cloudy, with scattered showers or thunderstorms, with the risk of flash floods or landslides in strong local thunderstorms.
Currently, PAGASA does not monitor any low pressure areas or cloud clusters within or outside the forecast area of the Philippines.
