President Putin argued that Ukraine will need a lot of support from Western allies, especially Germany, to deploy a Taurus missile, with a range of more than 480km. This means the Germans accept their presence in the war zone in Eastern Europe.
The Russian leader affirmed that the final outcome of the conflict will not change even if Germany provides missiles, and revealed that Moscow's army is dominating on all fronts.
Putin - who is said to be fluent in German - has expressed his willingness to dialogue with Germany if Prime Minister Friedrich Merz wishes. The Vice President noted that this had been mentioned by him many times before.
We are always open to this, President Putin told reporters in St Petersburg, Russia.

However, Mr. Putin said he did not believe that Germany could become a mediator for the conflict between Russia and Ukraine because of the high frequency of Berlinese equipment present on the battlefield, especially tanks.
According to official government data, Germany has provided Ukraine with financial aid of 1.6 billion euros (2022), 5 billion euros (2023) and 7.1 billion euros (2024), respectively.
In 2024 alone, this figure includes a contribution to the European Peace Fund (EPF) - a mechanism allowing the EU to partially return military aid to member countries. In the period of 2025 - 2028, Germany also plans to provide an additional 2.9 billion euros in aid.
However, in early June, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said Germany was not considering supplying Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine in the context of Russia's repeated strong warnings.
