On October 21, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTTDL) Trinh Thi Thuy signed Decision No. 3733/QD-BVHTTDL on awarding Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements at international sports competitions in 2025.
Accordingly, 132 athletes and 52 coaches from many national teams were honored.
Among them, the national youth team has 4 athletes who won bronze medals at the 2025 U17 and U23 Asian Championships held in Vietnam, along with 3 coaches who were rewarded for their coaching achievements.
Athlete Trinh Thu Vinh of the national shooting team also received a Certificate of Merit after winning the bronze medal at the Asian Shooting Championship in Kazakhstan.
In Kurash, 31 athletes and 14 coaches were awarded after bringing home many medals at two major tournaments, the Asian Asian kurash Championship (Korea) and the Southeast Asian Asian kurash Championship (Indonesia).
The boxing, soccer, judo, taekwondo, jujitsu, swimming and weightlifting teams also have many individuals recognized.
Notably, 24 athletes of the national football team won medals at the 2025 World Team Football Championship in France; 34 Judo athletes and 17 coaches were awarded after winning gold medals at the Southeast Asian Championship in the Philippines.
In addition, 8 young taekwondo athletes, 16 jujitsu athletes, 5 swimmers and 4 young weightlifting athletes were all awarded Certificates of Merit for their outstanding contributions to Vietnamese sports at continental and regional tournaments.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this is a worthy recognition of the efforts of athletes and coaches in affirming Vietnam's sports position in the international arena, and at the same time a great source of spiritual encouragement ahead of the upcoming important tournaments, especially the 33rd SEA Games.
