Teams attend the professional meeting to register for AVC Cup 2026
On June 5 local time in the Philippines, representatives of 12 women's volleyball teams held a professional meeting with the Organizing Committee of the AVC Cup 2026 tournament.
This year, the Organizing Committee implements regulations in accordance with the FIVB world volleyball rules. Accordingly, gender and player status checks during the tournament can be carried out if suspicion occurs.
FIVB World Volleyball Law in the updated version dated September 27, 2025 has specifically included the issue of testing the gender of players for women's events. The purpose of including athlete gender testing is to ensure fairness in competition in women's events.
The regulation also clearly states that: "Each National Federation is responsible for proving that the athletes they propose to participate are eligible to compete in the competition category they register.
Accordingly, each National Federation is responsible for providing SRY test results from laboratories approved by FIVB or the National Federation for each athlete they send to compete as part of the athlete status check process performed by FIVB or the National Federation...".
At AVC Cup 2026, each team is allowed to register a maximum of 14 official players. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team has completed the list of 14 players and has not changed compared to the initial preliminary list.
