Vietnamese youth boxing ends competition at the 2026 AFC U15 and U17 Championships

The Vietnamese youth boxing team has concluded the competition program of the 2026 AFC U15 and U17 Championships in Uzbekistan.

The young Vietnamese boxing (boxing) team only participated in 1 final match of the tournament.

In the competition to find the championship held on May 15 local time, athlete Pham Thi Hong Diem (52kg women's U17 age group) competed against Yaxin Qiu (China).

Despite her efforts to compete, however, Pham Thi Hong Diem lost with a score of 1-4, missing the opportunity to win the championship for the Vietnamese Youth Boxing Team.

In the end, Pham Thi Hong Diem won a silver medal. Her result is the best achievement of the Vietnamese Youth Boxing Team in Uzbekistan this year.

At the tournament, young Vietnamese boxing players won 3 medals including 1 silver medal (Pham Thi Hong Diem), 2 bronze medals (Hoang Quynh Huong - 80kg women, U17; Truong Khanh Huyen - over 80kg women, U17).

On the overall medal standings, the Vietnamese boxing team ranked 12th. 15 teams have won medals. Among them, host Uzbekistan won first place with 9 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 6 bronze medals.

The Kazakhstan team ranked second with a result of 8 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 5 bronze medals. The Indian team is in third place with achievements of 2 gold medals, 7 silver medals and 8 bronze medals.

In this year's tournament, the Vietnamese Youth Boxing Team participated with 21 athletes competing in the men's and women's events for each age group.
