Volleyball beauty Thu Hoai will become a bank employee after retiring in March 2026.

Recently, former setter Nguyen Thu Hoai shared her joy on her personal page. Accordingly, she just received an admission notice at a large bank and expressed her determination: "Game star, goodluck (temporary translation: new beginning, good luck).

This is a new beginning for the former Vietnamese volleyball beauty queen, after announcing her retirement at the end of March. Previously, through a personal article, Thu Hoai decided to say goodbye to her 13-year sports career to change career direction.

A decision that is not easy, but it is something I know I need to do, when my body is no longer in the best condition, when life has entered a new chapter.

I close this journey not with regret, but with deep gratitude. What volleyball has taught will always follow me, helping me to be more steadfast in my new life," Thu Hoai shared.

After getting married at the end of 2024 and giving birth in 2025, she switched to an office job, stabilizing her life outside of sports. Previously, from the time she played for Vietinbank until she became pregnant, the former athlete completed her university program.

In August 2025, she graduated with honors in Business Administration from the University of Economics (Vietnam National University, Hanoi) - for sports talents, GPA achieved 3.66/4.

Thu Hoai is one of the outstanding setters of Vietnamese women's volleyball for many years. In 2016, she won the title of best setter at the Southeast Asian Youth Championship.

In the national team jersey, she participated in many major tournaments, and together with the team won silver medals at SEA Games 30 (2019) and SEA Games 31 (2022).
