Expected from July 16 to July 17, the 2nd Conference of the Southeast Asian Sports Federation (SEAGF) in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) will continue working on SEA Games 34.
SEAGF President cum Vice President of the Asian Olympic Council (OCA) of Southeast Asia and also President of the Malaysian Olympic Committee, Dr. Norza Zakaria, has just announced that the upcoming 2nd Conference will discuss many contents.
In which, the consideration of sports proposed to be added to the SEA Games 34 competition program will be in the working session.
On July 2nd in Malaysia, SEAGF worked with the Technical Sports Sub-committee of the SEA Games 34 Organizing Committee to consider the professional preparation for the host country's organization.
The issue of the number of sports proposed to be added to the SEA Games 34 competition program has been discussed in detail.
Immediately after receiving the SEA Games 34 hosting flag from the SEA Games 33 closing ceremony held in Thailand at the end of last year, the host Malaysian organizers sent a message to the media that they would organize the regional Games to ensure the best conditions.
Among them, 38 sports have been confirmed by host Malaysia to be organized, including water sports (swimming, diving), athletics, weightlifting, basketball, bowling, lawn bowls, e-sports, gymnastics, golf, cricket, archery, shooting, muay, marbles, squash, taekwondo, karate, tennis, wushu, sepak takraw, billiards & snooker, judo, boxing, table tennis, floor ball, football, badminton, cycling, volleyball, netball, horse racing, hockey, fencing, ice skating, pencak silat, sailing, rugby, water skiing.
Southeast Asian countries are consulted to propose adding more sports to the SEA Games 34 competition program with a deadline of May 8.
SEAGF and the host Malaysian Organizing Committee will work to have a final decision on the list of sports proposed in writing.
SEA Games 34 will be held from September 18, 2027 to September 29, 2027.
