On September 16 in Hanoi, the Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation (VMMAF) had a meeting to encourage the Vietnam General Martial Arts Team MMA to successfully set off for competition.
For the first time, MMA was included in the official ASIAD 20 program.
The Vietnamese MMA general martial arts team has registered 2 fighters to compete including Lo Thi Phung (54kg female modern MMA), Quang Van Minh (77kg male traditional MMA).
The coaching staff of the Vietnamese MMA General Martial Arts Team said that each athlete has been optimally prepared with professional plans in the past time.
From there, everyone aims for the goal of striving to find opportunities to compete for medals at ASIAD 20.
On September 18, the whole team will go to Japan to participate in ASIAD 20.
The MMA general martial arts event is held from September 20th to September 23rd.
When present in Japan, representatives of the coaching staff of the Vietnamese MMA General Martial Arts Team will attend the professional draw session to know the brackets for Lo Thi Phung and Quang Van Minh.
Currently, the "hot" bonus for encouragement of competition results with gold, silver, and bronze medals corresponding to 500 million VND, 200 million VND, and 100 million VND has been announced by the Vietnam General Martial Arts Federation.
In a recent exchange, martial artist Lo Thi Phung said: "I was trained in techniques for locking, tightening and standing fighting to ensure effectiveness when participating in ASIAD 20.
However, I am waiting to know who my opponent is after the draw results”.
