The Games include 24 official sports, held at the city's gymnasium and stadium at campus 1 (Tan Trieu ward) and campus 2 (Binh Phuoc ward).
Among them, 19 sports take place before the opening ceremony including: Futsal Football, Table Tennis, Badminton, Tennis, Road Cycling, Boxing, Wushu, Kickboxing, Billiards & Snooker, Fitness, Karate, Taekwondo, Traditional Martial Arts, Chess, Chinese Chess, Stick Pushing, dưỡng sinh Physical Education, Bi sắt and Pickleball; the remaining 5 sports are organized immediately after the opening ceremony including: Athletics, Swimming, Volleyball, Tug of War and Vovinam. The awarding of prizes to collectives and individuals who achieve achievements is carried out directly after each tournament.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Truong Son, Vice Chairman of Dong Nai City People's Committee, said that the Congress attracted more than 5,000 athletes from 95 communes, wards and armed forces units in the city to compete.
The Congress is held at a time of special significance when Dong Nai city is on the path of development with a new spatial scale. Therefore, this Congress is not just a sports event but also a festival of the spirit of solidarity, will, energy and aspiration to rise up of Dong Nai city.
Through the sports competitions at the Congress, Dong Nai has the conditions to assess the actual physical education and sports movement at the grassroots level, discover new factors, talented and promising athletes to continue training and fostering to supplement forces for the city's teams.

More importantly, from this Congress, Dong Nai continues to spread the message that each healthy citizen is an important resource to build a fast, sustainable and civilized city.
Through the tournaments, Dong Nai city will also select excellent coaches and athletes to prepare to participate in the X National Sports Games in 2026.

The Sports Festival is held every 4 years, and up to now, the whole city has organized grassroots-level sports festivals, attracting thousands of participants to compete and cheer, reaching 100% of the set plan target.
The closing ceremony is expected to take place on September 15, 2026 at the Sports Gymnasium - Dong Nai City Training and Sports Competition Center with about 1,000 to 1,500 participants, including art performances, summary reports and commendation, rewarding outstanding collectives and individuals.
