In his speech celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on the morning of September 2, 2025, General Secretary To Lam emphasized that our Party sets a determined goal by 2045 - when the country celebrates its 100th anniversary, Vietnam will become a powerful, prosperous and happy nation. That is an oath of honor before history, before the people.
What is a high-pressure? What is prosperity? What is happiness? Regardless of what it is, the core is the people. That the people must be strong, not just in war.
National strength can be expressed in economic, political, technological or military indicators. But the foundation for those manifestations must be built from strong people. That is "people's strength, prosperous country".
But for each citizen, the story of " Strength and weakness" is just an aspect. In addition to being physically healthy, you must also be mentally strong, intellectual, and rich in compassion. A nation that is physically weak and mentally weak will find it difficult to control the future.
In the new era, the peacetime, we are weak because of the invasion of many things, including "soft culture".
Not only is it a matter of lack of exercise, increasing illness, a hasty lifestyle, public behavior is one of the most obvious aspects that can assess mental weakness. Ironically, to the point of being ironic, many people still think that muscle is a sign of strength. But being a little gentle with each other, giving in a little, thinking about each other a little... is the strength of the individual, of the community.
Aspiration cannot be just a word during holidays. It must be nurtured by discipline every day, by kindness in every word, by effort in every work.
Strength is a dream, but it is also an order. Generations of ancestors paid the price with blood to gain independence. Today's and future generations must turn independence, freedom, and happiness into strength. It can be said to be done, dreams must turn into action.
From family meals to traffic culture, from morning exercise to the will to study, all contribute to the national strength.
A powerful Vietnam does not wait until 2045 to "see how", but starts from today.
