The Asian Wrestling Federation and the Vietnamese Wrestling Federation have agreed on the program to organize the 2026 Asian Youth Championship, which is scheduled to take place from May 23 to May 31.
Vietnam will organize competitions for the U17 and U23 men's and women's age groups of the tournament. Representatives of the Asian Wrestling Federation highly appreciate the facilities prepared in Da Nang to organize the above tournament.
This year, the 2026 World U17 Wrestling Championship will compete in Azerbaijan in July, while the World U23 Wrestling Championship will be held in the US in October.
The Vietnamese youth wrestling team is expected to participate in the above 2 competitions. The 2026 Asian Youth Wrestling Championships will be an opportunity to select athletes with the best results to participate in the world-level tournament.
In 2025, the Vietnamese youth wrestling team had player Nguyen Thi My Linh win a silver medal in the women's 53kg weight class of the U23 age group at the tournament. Athletes Nguyen Ngoc Thi (women's 43kg) and Doan Thi Thuy Dung (women's 65kg) won bronze medals in the U17 age group.
Currently, many young faces of Vietnamese wrestling are participating in the National Youth Beach Championship 2026 competing in Bac Ninh.
The program attracts 500 athletes to participate in events for the championship system, 14-15 years old and 16-17 years old. The tournament will close on the 15th. 3. The Vietnamese beach wrestling team has won 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal at the 2025 Asian Youth Games.
