Right on the morning of the 2026 World Taolu Cup competition taking place in China on July 8, Duong Thuy Vi helped the Vietnamese wushu team win a gold medal.
She maintained her form to finish first in the women's stunt performance.
The final event had 7 players participating. Entering her performance, Duong Thuy Vi showed the best techniques with flexibility in each movement but still had strength to receive the highest score from the professional referee of 9.746 points.
She deservedly won a gold medal when the second-placed Pang Pui Yee (Malaysia) had 9.726 points. In the women's trade, athlete Aksiniia Schukina won a bronze medal with 9.723 points.
On the previous competition day at the 2026 World Taolu Cup, Duong Thuy Vi won a bronze medal in the swordplay performance.
Thus, in her two forte events, martial arts and swordplay, Duong Thuy Vi both won medals.
More importantly, Thuy Vi completed the goal of winning a gold medal at the World Taolu Cup for herself for the first time.

This is the 4th year the World Tao Lu Cup has been held. In the previous 3 times, Duong Thuy Vi only won a silver medal in the 2016 and 2024 World Tao Lu Cup competitions.
Currently, Duong Thuy Vi is the oldest athlete but has achieved the most international achievements in taolu (performance) events of the Vietnamese wushu team.
This year, this female athlete is a key face being prepared for ASIAD 20.
