On the evening of July 17, the opening ceremony of the 10th Asian Pencak Silat Championship 2026 took place in Dong Nai City with the participation of nearly 300 officials and athletes from 9 countries and territories in Asia. The tournament takes place from July 15 to July 23.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Loan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Dong Nai City, said: Dong Nai, after nearly 330 years of formation and development, has now risen to become a dynamic city, an important growth pole of the nation. The rich history, diverse cultural identity and spirit of solidarity and affection are the foundation for Dong Nai city to promote internal resources, build a modern, civilized and sustainable urban area in the new era - the era of national rise.

According to Ms. Loan, Pencak Silat is not only a traditional martial art of Southeast Asia but also a symbol of martial spirit, courage, respect and solidarity between nations and peoples. Today's tournament is an opportunity for athletes to compete with honesty and nobility. At the same time, strengthen exchanges, understanding and strengthen friendship between Asian countries.
