Compared to the force that participated in the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship finals at the end of January, the gathering list of the Vietnamese futsal team this time does not have many changes. The stability of the force is considered favorable for the coaching staff to continue to improve the playing style and enhance the cohesion in the squad.
Assessing the team's performance in the continental arena recently, head coach Diego Giustozzi said: "The Vietnamese futsal team has shown clear progress when they have the opportunity to play and play well against strong Asian teams such as Thailand or Indonesia. I am satisfied with what the young players have shown, but we still need to improve a lot".

According to the Argentine strategist, playing experience is still a factor that young players need to accumulate more in the coming time. "Young players have played well, but they need more matches to accumulate experience.
The best way to improve yourself is through real matches, because only when faced with specific situations on the field can players mature," Mr. Giustozzi emphasized.
This gathering also recorded the return of goalkeeper Ho Van Y after a period of injury treatment. Coach Diego Giustozzi highly appreciated the role of this goalkeeper: "Van Y is a leader, a player with experience and bravery when he has played many international matches. I am very happy that he has recovered and returned. Van Y's presence will definitely help the team have another quality factor".
Sharing at the gathering day, Ho Van Y said he was very happy to return to the national team after a long period of injury treatment. "I am very excited to return to the Vietnamese futsal team in this training camp. The past 8 months have been quite difficult due to injuries, but I have always tried my best in the recovery training process.
In the coming time, I will try to improve my expertise, fitness and strive to show my ability to go with the national team to Thailand to participate in the 2026 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship," said the goalkeeper of the Vietnamese national futsal team.

Besides experienced players, the coaching staff continues to give opportunities to some young faces such as Thac Hieu or Van Giau. According to coach Diego Giustozzi, gradually rejuvenating the force is necessary to aim for the long-term goals of the team.
We need to give opportunities to young players. For example, Thac Hieu has played well in the national U19 team jersey. The team has about two years to prepare for the 2028 Asian Championship with the goal of winning a ticket to the World Cup, so this is a suitable time for young players to accumulate experience in the national team environment," he said.
According to the plan, the Vietnamese futsal team will maintain training in Ho Chi Minh City before departing for Thailand to participate in the 2026 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship, taking place from December 6th to 12th. At this tournament, the Vietnamese futsal team is in Group A with Myanmar, Timor-Leste and host Thailand.
