The coaching staff of the Vietnamese badminton team said that 2 players Nguyen Dinh Hoang and Tran Dinh Manh have qualified for the 2026 Thailand Open. The tournament schedule will be from May 12 to May 17.
Nguyen Dinh Hoang and Tran Dinh Manh participate in the men's doubles event in the tournament. However, because they are not seeded, they will have to compete in the preliminary round to find a spot in the official round.
In the men's doubles preliminary round, Dinh Hoang and Dinh Manh will compete against 2 Malaysian players, Bryan Jeremy Goonting and Muhammad Haikal.
Currently, Dinh Hoang and Dinh Manh are the 2 No. 1 players of Vietnam in the men's doubles event. This pair of players just won the championship in the event in the 2026 National Club Badminton Tournament held in Thai Nguyen. Immediately after the tournament, Dinh Hoang and Dinh Manh moved to Thailand.
Recently, the Vietnamese badminton team also announced that Dinh Hoang and Dinh Manh have been granted official slots by the World Badminton Federation BWF to participate in the 2026 World Championships. This is the only representative of Vietnamese badminton to participate in the men's doubles event at the tournament to be held from August 17 to 23 in India.
In the rankings recently announced by the BWF, Dinh Hoang and Dinh Manh are currently ranked 88th in the world in the men's doubles event. This is the first time the Vietnamese pair has participated in a tournament at the BWF World Tour Super 500 level of world badminton.
